Onetoofree AB is formerly known as Mojang Specifications AB and is currently changing the name on logos, webbsite and publications.

The company develops and distributes computer games – currently the only product is Wurm Online which is a Massively Multiplayer Online-game competing on pretty much the same market as World of Warcraft and Second Life.

The current goal is to achieve a turnaround that makes the company one of the leading developers in Europe when it comes to online 3D worlds and MMO engines. The means for doing this is by letting Wurm Online grow organically as well as by looking at offers from investors.

Onetoofree is majority owned by its current CEO Rolf Jansson. We do not want to put a functional email address here since spam engines will find it, but you can use first name @onetoofree.com.

Wurm Online as a project

Development of Wurm Online was started in 2002 by Markus Persson and Rolf Jansson. The game was developed in spare time up until May of 2007 when Rolf Jansson was employed by Onetoofree (back then it was named Mojang Specifications).

The project engages about 40 people around the world, most of whom work as volunteers. The motivation for working for free on the project is to help create something historical and extraordinary while having a lot of fun - at least that is what we hope, believe and expect.

The server software is developed in the office in Motala, Sweden, where the project is also managed. The client software is also developed a lot there but also by other trusted programmers. Graphics and animations are created by Sunsplash Creations in Los Angeles, USA. The sound effects are also produced in another area of the US, Joss Sanglier from England makes the music as well as the current Wurm Online website.

The daily support to the players is managed by the players themselves in a hierarchy led by a Head Game Master. He appoints helpers such as other Game Masters, chat and forum moderators.

Except that the players constantly shape the game by chopping down trees, digging mines, building roads and founding settlements they also have great influence of the development in the game via the forum on the website. They may also contribute via various events and competitions where they may suggest new magical items or write texts for the national anthem of one of the kingdoms in the game.

The game is still under basic development and is expected to have reached a base level sometime in July of 2009. After that it will keep being improved through constant updates.
